The beaches and dunes of Padre Island National Seashore stretch for about 130 km (about 80 mi) along the Gulf of Mexico coast. This beautiful seaside area attracts thousands of visitors every year. Padre Island is actually a long sandbar that hugs the southeastern coast of Texas. |

| The Art Museum of South Texas was originally in the Centennial Museum in 1945. In the 1960s some wanted to build an art museum along the Bayfront. Completed in 1972, the Art Museum of South Texas have been a landmark on the Corpus Christi Bay. In October 2006 the Museum was doubled in size, adding new gallery spaces, a Museum Store and a café that overlooks the Bay and the ship channel. The addition features 13 roof-top pyramids as well as stunning use of color and light. |

One of the Coastal Bend’s major visitor destinations and leading nature tourism facilities, the 180-acre South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center showcases nine uniquely-designed floral exhibits and gardens. And also has a full calendar of horticultural and environmental educational classes and workshops for adults, and camps and Junior Master Gardener series for youth. |

Back in 1925, the Harbor Playhouse Company produced an average of four plays a year until the Depression. In 1935 the name was changed to Little Theatre Corpus Christi, then in 1948 the Little Theatre Corpus Christi was incorporated. But in 1976, the name officially changed to the Harbor Playhouse Company. The Harbor Playhouse, a non-profit organization, operates out of a space in the Bayfront Plaza, which includes a proscenium theatre that seats 454 and a studio theatre which can hold up to 150. |

![]() | Corpus Christi Golf & Country Club was established in 1922 on the old Kaler farm on Up River Road, is the only private member owned country club in the area. In the mid 1930’s oil was discovered on the course. So in 1964 the Club was moved from Up River Road to it's present location at 6300 Everhart Road, where an 18-hole, Robert Trent Jones designed course, new clubhouse and tennis facility were built. The new location continues to host the City's finest social and athletic events. |
